This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy) outlines how Teleste Security Solutions Oy and it’s subsidiaries (“Teleste”) and the client who have licensed the S-AWARE software from Teleste (the “Client”) which are offering you the S-AWARE GuardMobile app (the “App”) process your personal data. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of personal data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.  

Collected data

When you use the App, the following information may be collected: 

  • Login credentials: Your username and password to authenticate with the Client’s identity service. 
  • Real-time location data: The App continuously tracks and transmits your geographical location to the Client’s S-AWARE system. This information is used solely to allow system operators to monitor the real-time positions of security personnel for security reasons in order to improve the safety and security of the users.  

Teleste’s role, legal bases and purposes of processing

The data controller is always the Client, who operates and administrates the S-AWARE system in question. Teleste is processing the data only on behalf of the Client in the role of data processor in case of technical support.

Teleste may process personal data:

  • to authenticate your identity with the Client’s identity service 
  • to provide real-time location tracking to the S-AWARE system, allowing operators to monitor the positions of security personnel for operational and safety purposes. 

The legal bases of processing of personal data:

  • performance of a contract between the Client and Teleste; and
  • on the basis of legitimate interests to purposes described above.

If the Client is using the personal data for any other purposes than what has been described in this Privacy Policy, the Client is solely responsible for such data processing actions, and liable to inform you about those actions separately.

Your rights 

Depending on the applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • review the personal data collected on you;
  • request correction of any inaccurate or incomplete personal data;
  • request that we delete your personal data (“right to be forgotten”);
  • request restriction of the processing of your personal data;
  • object to further processing of your personal data; and
  • request the transfer of your personal data to another controller.

Data transfers 

Teleste does not disclose your personal data to unauthorized third parties.

To the extent necessary your personal data may be transferred and/or disclosed to Teleste’s subsidiaries as well as to third parties acting on Teleste’s behalf, including also transfers to servers and databases outside the country where you provided your personal data, provided that such countries have adequate data protection level, or provided that Teleste provides appropriate safeguards and that enforceable data subject rights and effective legal remedies for data subjects are available.

Your personal data may be disclosed to public authorities in situations where the applicable local law explicitly demands and allows for Teleste to do so.

Storage of data 

Teleste may store personal data only for the duration necessary for the defined purposes, unless we have an obligation under applicable legislation to retain the data for a longer period. 

Changes to this privacy policy 

We will occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or changes in personal data legislation. Please review this Privacy Policy from time to time for any amendments.
